Rev. David W. Plumer
Rev. David Walker Plumer of Hartland passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at the Carleton Manor in Woodstock. David was born on July 3, 1931 in Tienstsin, China and was the son of the late James and Caroline (Ingham) Plumer. He was predeceased by his wife Conway (Maphis) Plumer and a sister Gussie Wiess.

David acquired a Bachelor of Art in Geology from the University of Michigan and a Masters of Divinity from Berkeley Divinity School in New Haven, Connecticut. At the end of the Korean conflict he served in the military for two years in Panama. He was ordained a priest in the Episcopal Church in Colon, Panama and worked for five years overseas doing missionary work. He also worked in the U.S. for 15 years in Maryland, Tennessee and Michigan. They then moved to Newfoundland where he finished his career. After retirement he and Conway retired to Hartland, New Brunswick.

David married Conway Maphis in Panama in 1956. They are survived by their four children, Caroline (Steven) Barkaszi of Fords, New Jersey, Clarissa (Michael) Canning of Cold Lake, Alberta, Marshall (Dawn) Plumer of Chassell, Michigan, Charles (Nancy) Plumer of Highland Village, Texas; nine grandchildren, Sarah, Samuel, Joshua, Emma, Col, Forrest, Emily, Grace, Paige; two great grandchildren; brother Langdon Plumer of Exeter, New Hampshire.

There will be no visitation or service held here in New Brunswick. A service will be held at a later date in Hillsboro, New Hampshire, where he will be interred beside his wife, Conway.
