Shirley Isobel (Strong) Bubar

January 9, 1933 – January 9, 2021

Surrounded by her family, Shirley passed away peacefully at Riverside Court on her 88th Birthday.  She was predeceased by her parents, Archie and Hannah Strong, brother Willard (Jean) Strong, husband Paul Bubar, sisters-in-law, Ruth (John) Phillips, Ena (Lloyd) Melvin, brothers-in-law, John (Evelyn and Winona) Bubar, Frank (Evelyn) Bubar.

Shirley is survived by her daughter Ann (Jim) Steeves of Lower Sackville, sons, Archie (Joan) of Somerville, Andrew (Penny) of Riverview and Kevin (Victoria) of Charlie Lake.  She had six grandchildren:  Johannah, Matthew (Heidi), Dawson, Jarred (Sarabeth), Jenica (Joel) and Abby.  She also was blessed with six great grandchildren: Aralee, Thea, Owen, Lakelin, Brailyn and Shailyn. 

Shirley was a member of the Victoria Corner United Baptist Church where, for many years she served as the Church Treasurer, and was a long-time member of the WMS group.  Shirley was very active in the community and was part of the local Women’s Institute.  Shirley’s culinary skills shone through the many delicious plates of food she would make for events at the community hall.  Her brown bread was always a big hit for all.   She was most happy working alongside her husband Paul, in a successful family agriculture business. 

A graveside service will be held for Shirley on June 24, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Friends and Family are welcomed to attend. The Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Hartland following the service. If so desired, donations can be made to the Greenwood Cemetery or the Canadian Bible Society.
