Gene R. Patterson

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Gene Ross Patterson of Somerville announce his passing on February 22nd 2024 at the URVH, Waterville. Gene was born October 4th, 1955 to the late Stewart and Barbara Patterson. He was also predeceased by mother in law Glenna Allen, and brother in laws Larry Allen and Lloyd Tompkins.

Gene married the love of his life Charlotte (Allen) in 1977 and enjoyed 46 years of marriage. They had 2 children; son Justin (Ashley Leblanc) and daughter, Heather (Adam Lawrence) and three beautiful grandchildren Gus, Hattie Jean and Vada Lawrence, plus two bonus grandchildren, Harper Joubert and Gracen Joubert. He is also survived by his brothers; Stephen Patterson (Betty) and Dean Patterson (Debbie) brother in law, Carman Allen (June) and sister in law Daphene Tompkins as well as many special nieces, nephews and cousins that he cared for immensely.

Gene enjoyed a variety of careers and worked in the transportation industry until retirement. This allowed him to form friendships near and far. He had a heart of gold and enjoyed a cup of coffee and good conversation with friends and family. He always had a tale to tell. Gene was known to have his traditional tequila shot with his nieces and nephews every summer break. He loved to sneak a sweet treat and share a piece of pie with his granddaughters. He loved his time with his grandchildren and cherished them dearly.

He will be deeply missed by many.

Gene and his family would like to thank his Extra-Mural Nurses team and the ICU staff at Upper River Valley Hospital for all their support.
