Vernon "Lester" Rideout

Vernon "Lester" Rideout of Coldstream passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at the Upper River Valley Hospital in Waterville. He was born January 12, 1941, and was the son of the late Eldon and Juanita Rideout. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his stepfather Douglas Lloyd; sister, Ruth Pelkey-Hunter (Aubrey Pelkey and Earl Hunter); sisters-in-law, Debbie Lloyd, Marguerite Rideout: and brother-in-law, Jack Schmitt;

Lester is survived by his wife, Michele Rideout of Coldstream; children, Elizabeth Rideout of Woodstock, Kelly Grant (Cal) of Wiarton, ON, Sandy Palmer (Stuart) of Hartland, Vernon Rideout (Krista) of Woodstock, Lester Rideout of Coldstream; grandchildren, Daniel Davenport (Krystina), Daphne Grant (John), Ashley Barter (Adam), Courtney Grant (Gabrielle), Jordon Palmer (Mary), Jennifer Tompkins (Jason), Brandon Rideout, Cole Rideout; great grandchildren, Blake, Bailey, Kayleigh, Karter, Keyan, Kamryn, Everly, Ryah; siblings, Eldon "Red" Rideout, Reta Schmitt, Murray Lloyd, Starr Drier (George), Paulette Cullins (Stephen), Susan Hallett (Paul), Verna Isenor (William), Lynn White (David); several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Britton Funeral Home, 2 High Street, Hartland on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from noon to 2 p.m. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Jeremy Simpson officiating. The interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Hartland at a later date.
