James M. Corey
1948-2026
It is with sad hearts that we announce that James Milton Corey passed away at his home in Hartland on February 17th, 2026, surrounded by family, close friends and loving fur babies. We can’t imagine anything he would have wanted more than for everyone to be together.
Born in Plaster Rock on May 17th, 1948, Jim was the eldest son to Dorothy (Crone) and B. Milton Corey of Weaver. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a stepfather, Delbert Gallop, father-in-law, Oran Corbin, mother-in-law, Irene Corbin (Parsons), a son, Brian Corey, brother-in-law, Danny Corbin, sister-in-law, Lillian Romard, and brother-in- law, David Corbin.
Jim is survived by his wife, Susan (Corbin), daughter, Beth (Robert), grandchildren, Darren and Emily (Chandler), brothers, David, Donald, John, sister, Patrica, sister-in-law, Patrica, brother-in-law, Jean and several nieces and nephews.
Jim came to Hartland in 1968 to work at Wright and Evertt Furniture Store and from there he owned and operated Jim’s TV Sales and Servies. After graduating form Maritime Forrest Ranger School in 1991, he was employed by Department of Natural Resources. For the last 26 years, Jim was employed on the Bridge Crew with Department of Transportation and Infrastructure.
Jim dedicated most of his life appreciating the outdoors, whether it was working at the woodlot, hunting, fishing, walking the tracks, talking about tractors or trains or taking photos. He filled many roles as a volunteer with Carleton Ground Search and Rescue and New Brunswick Ground Search and Rescue. He taught Canadian Firearm Safety & amp; Hunter Education Course as well as the Canadian Restricted Firearm Course for many years.
Jim’s graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 20th at Williamstown Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial donations to the River Valley Cancer Support Group Inc would be appreciated. PO Box 854, Hartland, NB E7P 3K4.
