Florence M. Davis

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Florence Marie Davis on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the Upper River Valley Hospital. Florence was born in Gordonsville on December 8, 1926, the daughter of Hanford and Elizabeth Nye. Florence was one of 11 children; Eldon Nye (Eveline), Madeline Burlock (Elbridge), Harold Nye (Dorothy), Jean Clark (Ralph), Fred Nye (Barbara), Crystal Swim (Danny) Elva Shaw (Stanley), Warren Nye (Francis), Marjorie Orser (Michael) and Donald Nye (Flora) (Kay). Elva and Marjorie are now the last surviving siblings.

She was predeceased by her parents Hanford and Elizabeth Nye, her husband Charles (2021), daughters Wanda (1990) and Nancy (2022).

She married Charles Davis in 1949 and they raised 3 children. She is survived by her son, Gary Davis (Dorothy) and their children, Mitchell Davis and Beth Gauthier (Matthieu), her son-in-law, Dennis Harris and his children, Susan Harris and Karen Higgs (Jamie), great grandchildren, Bradley Higgs, Ashley Higgs, Charlie Gauthier and Ollie Gauthier, as well as many nieces and nephews. Florence grew up on the family farm in Gordonsville. After she married Charlie she managed the house and the family business until they sold and retired in 1997.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Britton Funeral Home, 2 High St, Hartland NB. The funeral will be held Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 2 pm at the Hartland Wesleyan Church in Sommerville, with Pastor Dave Wilcox officiating. The interment will be held in the spring at Greenwood Cemetery, Hartland.
